- Password-a multi-use game that increases students understanding of the importance of being verbally descriptive. Students have to guess a word they cannot see based solely on students verbal descriptions (vocabulary embedded in word lists)
- Question Cubes- A small group activity that helps student model how to collaborate effectively by distributing the facilitator responsibilities throughout the group (each student will role dice, read corresponding numbered question, facilitate a short discussion, then record the groups opinions using paraphrasing strategy.
- Magic Spheres Lab-Students will investigate the properties of diffusion and transport by conducting a inquiry lab using “Magic spheres that allow water to pass through its membrane similar to a cell membrane
- Walk it out-students will walk in circles around the room and converse with a partner about the small chunk of content they just learned (in order to stimulate brain function by moving and talking, this activities allows students to digest the lesson in pieces and move around.
- Water color paintings (abstract)-students will learn water color painting techniques while creating abstract cells.
