Tuotring will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45
Tuesday, August 5th, 2014:
- Welcome
& Folders (students will decorate the folders that will be kept in
class for assignments)
- Schedule Check/Supply List
(students will recieve the supply list for the class and schedules will
be checked)
- Who am I? #QTNA (I will introduce myself to
the class so they can learn a little about me)
- Your Expectations
(students will write a letter answering what they expect from me as a
teacher and what they are expecting to get from the class)
- About
You! (students will complete an about you sheet that will tell me more
& their classmates about them)
HW: Bring in supplies
Wednesday, August 6th
, 2014:
- Multiple
Intelligences (students will complete the multiple intelligences
worksheet that will aid in different activities and the teacher in grouping for
the semester.)
- About You! (cont'd) (we will complete the
guess who it is portion for the rest of the class today)
- Towers
(students will complete an inquiry lab for building the tallest
tower)
- Study Skills (students will complete a study skills
questionarre that will show them where their strengths and weaknesses are for
studying)
- Learning Style Inventory (students will complete
a learning style inventory that shows their dominant type of learning
style)
- Syllabus review (as a class we will review the key
components of the syllabus)
HW: Bring in supplies; Complete Graphing

Thursday, August , 7th
2014:
- Notes: Characteristics of Life
(students will take guided notes on the 7 characteristics of life)

Characteristics of Life Lab (there will be different items and
the students will have to identify them as living or not living)

Technology Scavenger Hunt (students will be introduced to the
different types of technology that will be used in our class this semester)
HW:
Complete Graphing worksheet; Bring in supplies
Friday, August 8th, 2014:

Interactive Notebook Setup (students should have brought their
interactive notebook in with them, we will set up the structure and explain all
expectations of the interactive notebook)
- Scientific Method Notes
(students will complete guided notes on the steps of the scientific
method
- IV/DV Practice (based on the scientific method
notes that were taken, students will practice picking out the independent and
dependent variable)
HW: Bring
in supplies (if you haven't already done so); Finish IV/DV practice
sheet
